About Us

SEA-DISC is an environmental program at Drake High School. Together, we work in many ways to make a different in the world. Each students believes that we are the generation that needs to change the world and the current environmental issues that we face. Some issues being global warming, urbanization and, for this project, the large amount of endangered species. For this project each student and their partner chose an endangered species, studied that animal and worked hard to make a website for the public to raise awareness of the problem of this animals possible extinction. Each student formed a love for their animal and they are all very passionate about saving it.

The population of the Kit Fox has been greatly affected by destruction of their habitat along with the predation by non-natives like the red fox and coyotes (Vaughn, 2002). Due to the small size of this fox they are not able to defend themselves or their habitat, they also do not have the ability to adapt to new areas.
